Bush Plans Next Record While On The Road
June 6 [7:55 EDT] -- Just because Bush is in the midst of what seems like a never ending tour of the U.S., that doesn't mean that they're not thinking ahead to their next album.
The band, which recently turned up with openers Veruca Salt at a surprise "Blind Date" concert in Los Angeles, is in the middle of its own tour. In addition to its regular concert itinerary, the band is playing a slew of radio station all-star shows, plus the big Blockbuster Rockfest on June 21st in Dallas, Texas.
For Bush, this summer is really no different form the last, when the band toured non-stop as well while rather hastily writing tunes for its second album, "Razorblade Suitcase."
When MTV News spoke with frontman Gavin Rossdale and guitarist Nigel Pulsford at the recent Q101 jamboree in Tinley Park, Illinois, they said that when it comes to writing tunes for their next album, this time they're gonna take a little more time.
"We want to do it like everyone else next time, and just take some time off," Rossdale told MTV News. "Two or three months to write, a couple of months to work it out together, and just sort of do it like normal people do it, as opposed to like... It was to do with the fact that we got so successful off one record, we wanted to go in and sort of prove it to ourselves, that we didn't get carried away with all that success. [900k QuickTime] If you did that in one record, you've got to be asking yourself a few questions."
