We apologize for the delay, Bush will be joining us in just a few
moments...remember, they are backstage, so anything can happen!
Nigel is joining us from backstage in Charlotte, North Carolina. They are
due onstage in just a little while, so we really appreciate him taking
a few
moments to chat with us. Please join us in welcoming Nigel!
Bush says: Hi, it's Nigel. Nice to see you. See you nice!
From KATIE AND [email protected]: if you could tour with any band
what band would it be??
Bush says: Big Star. With the original lineup...which is not really
possible, because
one of them is dead, but....
From [email protected]: Are you enjoying yourselves on this tour or are
you finding it tiresome?
Bush says: No, we are having a really good time. It's always tiring,
but we're having a
really good time.
From [email protected]: Was sup Bush. I just wanted to know how is
this tour different than your first tours and areyou enjoting it more
because
you have more songs to play? You guys rock.
Bush says: It's different because it's bigger, and the shows are
longer, with more
songs, and, I suppose, more fun.
From [email protected]: How did you all meet?
Bush says: I met Gavin through a mutual friend backstage at a gig,
Dave was around,
I think he vaguely knew Gavin before and we met Robin through a friend
who
recommended him as a drummer.
From [email protected]: Which album do you all like better, the
first or second?
Bush says: I like the third album best...
From [email protected]: briefs or boxers
Bush says: Boxers...
From Katie: Hey, I was wondering how long you guys will be touring for
and
if your girlfriends/wife mind the periods of time you are gone for.
Bush says: They hate it when we go. We are going to be on tour all
over the world
probably until next March. We're coming back to the states probably in
November. I
get my wife to come out, she's coming in about five days.
From [email protected]: Hola guys!! you ROCK, you're my fav. band!
Anyway, i was wondering... who would you say have been the most
influential people in your lives??
Bush says: My family. Because I've got a musical family.
From [email protected]: what is the 27th letter in Bonedriven?
Bush says: I dunno...
From [email protected]: I've seen you guys play in New York and was
amazed at how tight sounding and energetic you guys were. How do you keep
up that energy level? Can I buy some?
Bush says: Excitement...pure excitement.
From Eve: Dave, do you have a girlfriend?
Bush says: Yes, he does. A very pretty girlfriend.
From [email protected]: Which video did you enjoy filming the most?
Bush says: The latest one, called Contagious. It will be out in a
couple of weeks. We
got to work with an old friend of ours from London, Mark Le Bon, who
did the
photos on the first album.
From [email protected]: Do you have any say in what goes into a
video?
Bush says: As much as we want, basically. It's a collaboration.
From KATIE AND [email protected]: When you were kids did you ever
imagine you'd be in a succesful band?
Bush says: Dreamed. Always dreamed of being in a successful band.
From Eve: is Gavin a nice guy to work with?
Bush says: Yup, otherwise we wouldn't work with him.
From [email protected]: Where'sthe place you'd most like to go to
that you haven't been to yet?
Bush says: Hawaii.
From Suselrulz.com: Hi,guys what song is going to be in the batman
soundtrack?
Bush says: We're not doing a song for the Batman soundtrack. That's
one of those
beautiful rumors that's completely wrong. Unless, of course, the
Smashing Pumpkins
cover any of our songs.
From [email protected]: Nigel...did you really write half of Glycerine
Bush says: No, I just wrote the strings, and I wrote the end.
From [email protected]: What color was your hair when you had some?
Bush says: Loads of different colors , because I used to dye it all
the time. Which was
why it fell out....
From [email protected]: What are your long term life goals, now that
you've
reached fame, what's next?
Bush says: Infamy...they've got in for me.... Children. I want children.
From [email protected]: what is your favorite type of food? what kind of
stuff
do you eat on the road?
Bush says: My favorite food is..tequila. And we eat lots of chicken
and pasta.
From [email protected]: How did you come up with the band name? I love
the new album!!
Bush says: Thank you. The name was through a process of osmosis. We
smelled it
coming under the door.
From [email protected]: What did you think of the Rolling Stone
article on Bush?
Bush says: We thought it sucked, we think they suck, and we wish that
any of our
fans would stop buying Rolling Stone, 'cause it sucked.
From [email protected]: What kind of Boxers?
Bush says: Calvins.
From Michelle#[email protected]: Thank god for boxers. What are
the other Bushmen doing at the moment?
Bush says: I dunno. I wish I did, so they could come and do this as
well. I think Dave
is on the bus playing a video, or maybe reading a book. I don't know
what Robin and
Gavin are doing, though I suspect Robin is getting a massage.
From English [email protected]: Do you find the crowds in this tour a
little
more excited than past tours?
Bush says: No, this is really as enthusiastic as it's always been. I
don't really see any
difference, they are really kind to us, as they've always been.
From [email protected]: What would you guys be doing if you weren't in
a band?
Bush says: Being a failed writer of novels.
From [email protected]: do you actually read and answer all that fan
that you get? Because I sent you a letter and I didn't know if I
should expect
a response. -kelly schuler
Bush says: We haven't seen any of it yet, but we're just in the
process of getting a
load sent over. I always respond to people when they write me on the
net, when I
can.
From [email protected]: Do you write most of the giutar solos and
riffs,
or is it a community effort between you and Gavin?
Bush says: No, I write everything I play.
From [email protected]: Can you operate an oven w/o seriously injuring
yourselves?
Bush says: Yep. I've baked some phenomenal meals in my time, thank you
very
much.
Nigel has to run off to have a nap before the show...thanks to Nigel for
joining us this evening!
Bush says: Thanks everyone for checking in, sorry I can't answer all the
questions...take huge amounts of care.
